Upper Arm Lift The arm lift procedure is performed to help eliminate excessive saggy skin that can exist around the upper arms and under arm area. Not all patients are candidates for arm lift surgery. Many cosmetic surgeons prefer that persons suffering from obesity attempt weight loss as an initial measure. Some physicians are reluctant to do this surgery on persons with severe cellulite or varicose veins. Other chronic medical conditions that heal slowly are poor candidates for this surgery. Surgery is done under general anesthesia which carries a higher degree of risk.
