Staff: Dr. Sandra Fearrington

Dr. Sandra Fearrington has spent much of her life in the Triangle area. She attended elementary and middle schools in Raleigh and graduated from Millbrook High School in 1976. She went on to attend the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1980.

Dr. Fearrington worked as a nurse for seven years specializing in intensive care. It was during her experience working in the burn unit at North Carolina Memorial Hospital that she first developed an interest in pursuing a career as a plastic surgeon.

In 1987, Dr. Fearrington was admitted to Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. She graduated in 1991. Over the next three years she continued her medical education at Dartmouth, completing an internship and residency in general surgery. In 1991, she completed her residency in plastic surgery at the University of New Mexico.

After working in group practices in the Triangle area for three years, Dr. Fearrington opened her practice in Independence Park in Durham in 2000.

Dr. Fearrington is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Fearrington lives with her husband and daughter in Chapel Hill.
